Amenities and Facilities
We don’t just give you rooms when you stay at El Cubil; we have created an environment that is welcoming to everyone. We are surrounded by the mountains of Protrero Chico creating the perfect setting to share climbing stories, create culinary dishes in our fully equiped kitchen, or simply finding time to relax in our garden. You will most definately find people from around the world who you will build friendships with, share stories, and just hang out.
Kitchen, dining room and more
Our guests share a spacious, modern, fully equipped kitchen with dining area and ample room for socializing with other guests. This high-ceilinged building has lower windows overlooking the courtyard and upper windows that reveal the mountains of Potrero Chico.
Purified drinking water is provided.
Dry bins and refrigerators are provided for guests to store their groceries. An electric coffee maker, toaster oven, and multiple gas burners for cooking, and everything you would need to cook and serve your meals. We encourage our guests to use the compost bins and to recycle.
An area of the kitchen-dining building is set aside as a relaxed, casual space for socializing with other guests. This area includes a fireplace and wall mounted TV.
Our Starlink internet service is available to all guests so you have access to truly highspeed wi-fi if you need to work or just connect with friends.
A firepit in our courtyard ensures you can safely enjoy a fire while making new friends or swapping beta from your day's climbing.
If you are eager to build your strength or train on a rest day from climbing, you can find hangboards at a number of places on our room porches.
You can grill your meals on the BBQ in the garden while your friends relax around you.
Our Parking Lot is close to our Private Rooms, Private Loft Cottage and Indoor Kitchen. And we have lots of space for your vehicle.
Our water pressure pump ensures good flow rates in bathrooms and kitchen.
Unlike most places in Hidalgo and Potrero Chico, we built a septic system that can handle toilet paper. Please put toilet paper in the toilet.
All other sanitary products (wet-wipes, paper towels, tampons, pads, etc.) must be put in the wastepaper basket.
All linens and towels are included in your room rental and are changed weekly.
We want all our guests to enjoy their experience at El Cubil please note the following:
No smoking in any room or building.
Quiet hours are from 11pm to 7am.
Only very small pets are permitted and must stay in their owner’s room and always under the control of their owner.
Pets are not permitted in the kitchen-dining room building, nor in any of the other common areas or shared spaces.
We ask that you wash, dry and put away all pots, plates, cups, etc., that you use so other guests have them available for their use.
Laundry service is available for a small fee: $200 MXN for a Washer load and $100 MXN for a Dryer load.
Taxi Service from Monterrey International Airport (MTY) to El Cubil is available for $50 USD $1,000 MXN. This includes all tolls incurred.
